Kerry Ohop Miss Viking 2009-2010 Riverside High School, PA.
I have wanted to be Miss Viking since I was four years old and met her at a game. Her sparkling outfit was the attraction for me then, but as I got older I realized that
she was a leader and role model as well. Through hard work and perserverance, I was named Miss Viking for the 2009-2010 school year.
Although there is certainly more to her than what she wears, it was a special feeling when I put my Miss Viking outfit on for the first time.
I have gotten numerous compliments on my outfit, including from the marching unit heads from other schools. My grandmother said that she could see me
wherever I was on the field because the sequin fabric shines brilliantly in the sunlight or under the night lights on the football field. The outfit
my mom and family made, and I proudly wear would not be possible without Designer Alley. The beautiful fabric, Swarovski crystals and additional
materials, as well as the time and expertise provided by Designer Alley helped make my dream a reality.
Miss Viking serves as head of the marching units at Riverside High SchoolPA. and is responsible for the leadership of 50 cheerleaders. She
does the choreography for the half-time performances at football games, teaches the routines, performs at pep rallies, leads community parades, and
represents the school. Miss Viking also coordinates and directs the annual marching unit stage performance for the school and community.
